Upper School Program Highlights
Spiritual Development
At our Upper School, spiritual development is at the heart of our mission: to raise generations of HCA graduates who will impact the world through strong Christian character and a profound biblical worldview. Students engage in daily devotions with teachers, participate in weekly chapel services, take part in the transformative Spiritual Emphasis Week each fall, and participate in other impactful fellowship, worship, and service opportunities throughout the school year.
Our dedicated Bible classes, led by seminary-trained faculty, ensure students receive thorough theological insights from a reformed perspective. Complementing their education, students take part in service projects and a mentoring program for middle schoolers with 11th and 12th-grade leaders, fostering a spirit of community and leadership.
We require our teachers to weave a biblical worldview into every subject, ensuring that students see the truth of Scripture reflected in all areas of study. We are dedicated to cultivating strong Christian leaders who are well-equipped to navigate the challenges of a lost world.
Curriculum
Our curriculum and courses were developed with our mission statement in mind. We strive to “glorify God by serving Christian parents and their children while providing a high-quality, Christ-centered educational program marked by academic excellence and the development of a biblical worldview and strong Christian character.” We believe that the courses offered at HCA, combined with the activities and athletic programs available to our scholars, will thoroughly prepare each student for the distinct call God has placed upon his/her life.
In addition to HCA's curriculum offerings, upperclassmen can participate in our Dual-Credit program in partnership with Dordt University, Mid-America Nazarene University, and Spurgeon College.

At Heritage Christian Academy, we prioritize serving our students and their families, creating an educational experience that goes beyond mere instruction. Our unique instructional style harmonizes cognitive and affective elements, recognizing that authentic learning flourishes within meaningful relationships. Understanding each student’s journey is essential; our dedicated teachers invest time in knowing their students as individuals. This relational approach fosters a nurturing environment where academic excellence thrives, guided by a commitment to honor God in all we do. We emphasize mastery of subjects and adapt our teaching to diverse learning styles, ensuring every student feels valued and engaged. While this demanding work requires grace and effort, it leads to a vibrant community rooted in faith and continuous growth, where both knowledge and character are cultivated.
Accreditation
HCA is proudly accredited through ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). We undergo a rigorous review process to maintain accreditation, demonstrating a high-quality educational program. ACSI accreditation ensures that the school prioritizes Christian values and integrates biblical teachings into its instruction. ACSI sets specific standards for academics, spiritual development, and school operations that Heritage Christian Academy must meet to maintain accreditation.
