Who We Are

HCA Identity

HCA: A School Rooted in the Gospel

Students need a solid grounding in the Word of God, the Bible, to bear fruit that glorifies God and blesses the world. While the primary responsibility for this grounding rests with a student's family and church, Christian schooling presents a unique opportunity to equip students with a biblical perspective on every subject area for all of life.

Church Ministry Partnership

Heritage Christian Academy is uniquely structured as a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church—a model rarely found among Protestant Christian schools in our area. While many private schools operate independently, HCA functions under the spiritual oversight of Redeemer’s session, a model similar to the parochial system often found in Catholic education.

This partnership grounds our school in theological truth and missional clarity. The elders of Redeemer oversee and shepherd our Board of Directors, providing ongoing pastoral care, doctrinal accountability, and spiritual support. At the same time, HCA’s leadership team carries out the school’s daily operations with excellence and intentionality.

As an extension of the local church’s mission, HCA partners with like-minded families to raise up students who know, love, and serve the Lord. This church-connected model strengthens our foundation, shapes our vision, and ensures that every decision is made in pursuit of Christ-centered education.

Statement of Faith

HCA's identity, objectives, and approach are all rooted in a system of beliefs about the way things really are and ought to be. As a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA), Heritage Christian Academy is committed to the following tenets of Christian doctrine:

  1. We believe in the Trinity: God exists in three persons--the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is the Creator, King, Ruler, and Sustainer of all things.
  2. We believe in the authority and inerrancy of Scripture: The Bible is the supreme authority over every area of our lives as individuals and as a church. In all its parts and teachings, the Bible is divinely inspired, inerrant, and infallible.
  3. We believe in the spiritual rebellion of the human race: Man and woman, as created in the image of God, in high dignity, are now under God's condemnation for their rebellion against His good and just authority. Since the Fall, we are both guilty of and polluted by sin, which has affected us spiritually, intellectually, psychologically, socially, and physically.
  4. We believe in the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ: Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who became fully human in order to live a sinless life and die a painful death in our place. Through His life, death, and bodily resurrection, He accomplished a decisive victory over sin and established His Kingdom among us.
  5. We believe in the necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit: Humanity needs the work of the Holy Spirit to make the work of Christ effective in the life of His elect. The Spirit grants us repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ.
  6. We believe in salvation by faith alone in Christ alone: The only way we can escape the penalty and power of sin is through faith in Christ alone and not through any goodness or moral effort of our own.
  7. We believe in the physical return of Christ: We anticipate the bodily resurrection and the personal and triumphant return of Jesus Christ to earth for final judgment and the consummation of His kingdom.

More About HCA's Beliefs

As a ministry of Redeemer Presbyterian Church, HCA also holds to the teaching more fully and completely laid out in the Westminster Confessions and Catechisms, which we believe to be an accurate and systematic summary of the Christian faith. Redeemer is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America.

Our Name: Heritage Christian Academy

Because a school’s name is a primary representation of its identity, much thought and prayer went into the selection process. The founders of Heritage Christian Academy identified several characteristics that they wanted emphasized through its name:

  • The conviction that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3).
  • The desire to project the rich local heritage of faith from the churches that established Berean and Westminster schools.
  • The wish to honor the Christian heritage of our nation’s foundation.
  • The vital importance of passing on the heritage of faith to our children as the Lord instructed His people in the book of Deuteronomy.

HCA Mission Statement

The mission of Heritage Christian Academy is to glorify God by serving Christian parents and their children while providing a high-quality, Christ-centered educational program marked by academic excellence and the development of a biblical worldview and strong Christian character.

Covenant Model

HCA operates under a covenant model, coming alongside the home and church to train students to live the Christian life and creating a distinctly Christian community where every student can thrive.

Every enrolled HCA family affirms our Statement of Faith and maintains active involvement in a local evangelical church. This covenant commitment is not about exclusion—it’s about alignment.

When families, teachers, and church leaders share the same core beliefs, trust is built, discipleship deepens, and students are surrounded by consistent spiritual guidance. Our goal is to foster a community where accountability is welcomed, encouragement is mutual, and Christ is central to every relationship.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to see the world profoundly impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ through generations of Heritage graduates. In partnership with Christian families and churches, we are trusting the Lord to raise up thousands of students who have found life in Jesus and been equipped to discern and follow His call wherever He leads them.

Deuteronomy 6:5–9

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
