HCA Names Rick Jarvis As Varsity Boys Basketball Head Coach

Monday, June 18, 2018
The Heritage Christian Academy athletic department is excited to announce that Rick Jarvis will be taking on the role of Head Coach for the Boys Varsity Basketball program.
“Having Mr. Jarvis take over this role is a true blessing for our athletic program. He is a well-respected member of the HCA family and has already built relationships with our players and families that will enable him to thrive in this new role. Jarvis’ love for the Lord and his desire to mentor and teach young people is unmistakable, and we are eager to see his passion make an immediate impact in this program. Mr. Jarvis had been looking for an opportunity to jump back into coaching and we are delighted that he is joining our coaching staff.” –David schenk, AD
Mr. Richard Jarvis recently completed his 24th year in Christian education and has served at HCA since 2007. Jarvis is in the process of completing his Doctorate of Education at KU. He previously coached varsity basketball before moving to Kansas and has coached elementary and middle school teams at HCA.
“Having the opportunity to once again coach basketball at the varsity level is an exciting challenge and I’m looking forward to adding this new role to my responsibilities at HCA. One of the reasons that I pursued education was for the opportunity to coach and mentor young people in a competitive athletic environment.” —Rick Jarvis
