Curriculum and Philosophy

Junior High students begin their day at 8:00 a.m. and are dismissed at 3:05 p.m. each day.
Seventh grade students take Math 8/7 or Pre-Algebra, Kansas History and American Government, Science, Bible (alternating between Old Testament and New Testament Survey), Language Arts, Physical Education, Spanish, Computer Applications and electives which include band and/or choir. In addition, each seventh grader has the opportunity to schedule a daily study hall period.
Eighth grade students take Pre-Algebra or Algebra I, American History, Science, Bible (alternating between Old Testament and New Testament Survey), Language Arts, Physical Education, Spanish, Computer Applications and electives which band and/or choir. In addition, each eighth grader has the opportunity to schedule a daily study hall.
Emphasis is placed on preparing students for the comprehensive and rigorous curriculum of the high school by developing good habits, study skills and discipline for more advanced academic work. By the time students reach the high school, they have honed their critical and analytical skills and are ready to meet the demands of a challenging curriculum.
